"Gungnir" Railgun

LAM-09 “Gungnir”
The linear asynchronous motor, or commonly known as “Railgun”, accelerates a large spear-like projectile using an electromagnetic field. The projectile itself has an outer layer of Tungsten-Silver alloy and a core comprised of a synthetic diamond, thus featuring very high conductivity, heat-resistance as well as the hardness needed to puncture through several targets. The device houses two compact nuclear generators with a dedicated cooling unit, providing more than 40 MW of power, enough to propel the projectile at 9 Km/s ,muzzle velocity, maintaining accuracy across distances of up to 500 Km in terrestrial conditions, delivering a kinetic energy output of 60 MJ upon impact, giving it unparalleled penetration properties among all projectile-based weaponry.
